The fishing in Saxnäs and its surroundings is widely known.
Do you want to fish in slowly running waters or do you wish the current to be moderate to fast? In the woodlands or at the mountains? Summer or winter?
Both national and international fishing guests return here year after year. Fishing in Saxnäs is within easy reach of the Fishing Center and Kultsjögården. The fish that dominate here in the area are mountain trout and mountain char. You can also find grayling further down.
Here in Saxnäs, you are in the middle of a hub of several flowing waterways, lakes and ponds, so there is a great variety of fishing opportunities. Examples of areas and fishing waters that many visit are Stekenjokk, Marsån, Kultsjöån, Gikasjön and Kultsjön. Övre Fiskonbäcken and Ransarån are very popular quota fly fishing waters which require you to book your fishing visit well in advance, preferably 6-12 months in advance.
Feel free to combine your fishing in Saxnäs with accommodation with us here at Kultsjögården. We offer accommodation in cabins or hostel rooms. There are many fishing enthusiasts who like to hang out here at Kultsjögården and they like to share their fishing experiences with each other.

Our fishing guides give you guidance for fishing around Saxnäs
These fishing packages take all the stress out of planning a vacation; the only decision you need to make is which lake or river is best for you. Take that decision together with the fishing guide each day.
Water temperature and current are things that can affect your fishing. After an introduction with our fishing guide it is easier to choose which water that may be relevant for you each day. The way to fishing happiness has never been easier

Travel information for fishing packages 3-5 days
- Day 1: Arrival in Saxnäs and check in at your accommodation. Introduction with one of our guides with an overview of the fishing in areas around Saxnäs. You will receive information material, a map and fishing license for the area for 3-5 days.
- Days 2-3-5: Fishing on your own in the area based on weather, wind and current conditions. You can get information from the guide at the Fishing Centre when needed.
- Dates: 27/6 – 1/9.

Övre Fiskonbäcken

If you hit the right time in terms of weather, water levels and insect hatches, it can give you fly fishing memories to last a lifetime. The watercourse contains both larger and smaller seals between the current sections. There is a good population of trout swimming here and the largest that was landed measured a whopping 69 cm. The campsite is beautifully situated next to the stream and fishing takes place both upstream and downstream. The water is crystal clear and with the help of polarized glasses you can spot trout on some of the fishing routes.
There are big trout swimming here in Övre Fiskonbäcken. On each visit, fish with weights of around two kilos have been sighted. It is an exciting challenge to find the right imitation in the fly box, not to scare the trout and wait for the right opportunity to offer the lure…
Your fishing permit here also applies to the Upper Fiskonsjön, where you will also find a good stock of fine mountain trout and trout.

Vandra eller helikoptertransport

- Bra fysik krävs för du ska orka vandra sträckan med egen packning och din del av mat, sovsäck, liggunderlag och tält.
- Helikoptertransport ingår ej i priset -kan bokas genom Fiskecentrum.

Här erbjuds flugfiskekurser för nybörjare, kurs i kast- och fisketeknik, flugbindning och i praktisk fiske. Om ni är ett företag, kompisgäng, familj eller är ensamma kan vi skräddarsy en lärorik kurs för er.

Fiske i Saxnäs på vintern
Vinterfisket, is-pimpling efter fjällröding och öring
Väder och isförhållanden avgör när vinterfisket i Saxnäs kommer igång. Det brukar bli ungefär vid månadsskiftet november-december.
Många ispimplare brukar tycka att förstaisen fisket är något speciellt. Rödingen är just då ofta huggvillig, om du väl lyckas lokalisera den. Isen är tunn och det är lättborrat. Den tunna isen släpper lättare igenom ljus och ger dig möjligheten att kikpimpla på grundare vatten. Det är väldigt spännande att se hur rödingen närmar sig.
Runt omkring Saxnäs hittar du flera större sjöar där du kan välja att pimpla. Kultsjön, Ransaren, Satssjön och Bielite finns att välja på. Några av sjöarna är vägnära och du kan ganska lätt ta dig ut på isen.
När solen stålar och dagarna blir varmare och längre framåt i April, då kommer en annan höjdpunkt ute på isarna.

För din säkerhet: Kontrollera alltid isens bärighet innan fiske och vid förflyttningar, minst 10 centimeter kärnis är ett bra mått. Kom ihåg att ta med dig isdubbar, ispik, extrakläder i en tät plastpåse, mobil i vattentätt fodral, livlina och en bra fiskekompis. Då kan ni hjälpa varandra om olyckan är framme!
